Student Learning Objectives
Student Learning Objectives (SLO’s) are assessment processes used by educators to document their own effectiveness based on student achievement of content standards. An example that I have created can be viewed below:
The following information can also be found on the Bucks County School District website.

Creating an SLO
Some questions educators should ask when creating student SLOs:
-
What are the student's main goals? What do we want to see them achieve or improve upon in class?
-
Are we comfortable having other educators collect SLO data? Or should each SLO be observed in a specifc classroom environment?
-
Who and how will we determine whether or not the student has reached achievement?

What subject will these SLOs take place in? : Math
How many times does this class meet during the school week OR At what time will the SLO be observed?: 5 times per week, 180 times throughout the school year.
What is the goal?: Student will use mathematical properties to solve, check, and simplify algebraic expressions.
What standard(s) will we use?: CC.2.2.8.B.3
Why is the student doing this?: The goal listed is a crucial part of Algebra. It will give students the tools and abilities they need for real word application.
How will the student achieve this OR how will the teacher observe the achievement of this SLO?: A set percentage will be established for different assessments. The student must reach these scores in order to achieve the goal.
